Choose something you really love!

I used to hate studying and I absolutely dreaded revision. I’d lie in bed stressing about having to revise and end up frantically starting at 10pm, after putting it off all day.

Then I’d wake up tired and grumpy and the cycle would start again. I’d watch enviously as my friends completed their revision and treated themselves to the pub or the cinema.

My bedroom wall at Uni was plastered with post it’s as I desperately tried to cram in some last minute facts and figures.

I did finally pass my degree but the process had left me feeling like a stressed out failure.

Today I’m sat in a cafe, waiting for my son to finish judo and I love it because it gives me time to study.

When you have a topic that you truly love and feel passionately about studying is a joy. And that’s a sentence I truthfully thought I would never say.

I’m only a few weeks away from obtaining my Diploma in Child Mindfulness. I’ve only coached women in the past but since I started I’ve had several requests from parents to work with their teenage daughters. I can’t think of anything more rewarding than helping children become confident and happy adults. Life’s too short to be anything less.

So…if you’re a teenager choosing your options or your future degree, choose something you really love. Don’t choose the course that sounds the coolest. If your passion is cooking or working with children then don’t be afraid to go for it. Don’t choose a subject that you think will make you the most successful or the richest. Choose something you can’t wait to learn more about and studying will never feel like a burden ❤️.
